What is Mildew : 
Mildew is a type of fungus that grows on plants, walls, or other surfaces when the conditions are humid, damp, and poorly ventilated. In plants, mildew mainly affects leaves and can reduce growth, yield, and quality.

Powdery Mildew Caused by fungi like Erysiphe spp. White/gray powder on leaf surface
Downy Mildew Caused by oomycetes (water molds) like Peronospora spp. Yellow spots on top + fuzzy mold below

In Plants, Mildew:

  • Feeds on leaf surface or inside the leaf tissue
  • Grows rapidly in humid and mild temperature conditions (15–25°C)
  • Spreads through wind, water droplets, and infected plant material
